The working principle of the automatic waste edge coiling machine is generally as follows (different types of scrap edge coilers may have some differences):
First, the scrap edge to be processed will enter a specific area, such as a scrap collection pit or a similar location.
Then, the scrap edge is inserted into the slit at the end of the reel by manual or other means.

For example, the working process of a specific waste edge coiler is as follows: start the first hydraulic cylinder, push the base to move to the left, so that the coil shaft is inserted horizontally into the bucket frame, and the push plate is located in the gap; after the waste wire is introduced into the coil shaft, start the motor, the coil shaft rotates and drives the waste wire to gradually form a waste roll; then start the second hydraulic cylinder, the push plate moves to the left to the limit distance, and squeezes the waste roll to reduce its size; then start the second hydraulic cylinder to move the push plate to the right to the initial position, and then start the first hydraulic cylinder to push the base to the right to the initial position. After the waste roll is separated from the coil shaft, it falls from the bucket frame.
In addition, there are also waste coilers with clamping devices and lifting output devices. When the scrap edge head cut off by the disc reaches the coiler, the coil clamping cylinder pushes the active coil to move toward the passive coil, thereby clamping the scrap edge head and starting to coil. After winding a roll, the coil clamping cylinder retracts, and the scrap edge roll is unloaded from the roll and falls into the material trough below, and then the next roll is started.
The specific working principle of the waste edge coiler will vary depending on its design and application scenario, but in general, it is to collect and coil the scrap edge materials in an orderly manner for subsequent processing or transportation.
